Job Description
The Test Technician II performs hands-on debug, testing, and maintenance of electronic assemblies and test equipment in a fast-paced, clean manufacturing environment. This role supports complex products across industries such as aerospace, defense, telecommunications, computing, industrial, medical, and semiconductor equipment. The technician applies technical expertise to troubleshoot to component level, supports test operators, and contributes to continuous improvement activities while working under defined procedures and general guidance.
Responsibilities
Debug and test electronic assemblies to the component level using block diagrams, schematics, and appropriate test equipment.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance, calibration, and upkeep of test fixtures, testers, and related equipment to ensure reliability and accuracy.
Troubleshoot production and operator test issues, identify root causes, and collaborate with leadership to implement training and process improvements.
Provide training, coaching, and ongoing technical support to Test Operators to ensure consistent test methods and quality standards.
Communicate test failures, equipment issues, and recurring problems clearly and promptly to Test Engineers and leadership.
Assist Test Engineers in conducting experiments for failure analysis and root cause analysis, documenting findings and supporting corrective actions.
Recommend additional equipment, tools, and resources for product debug areas to improve efficiency and test coverage.
Participate actively in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, productivity, and safety.
Follow all company security policies and procedures, including handling of sensitive and confidential project information.
Work on problems of moderate scope, analyzing data and situations, and exercising judgment within established procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions.
Build and maintain productive internal and external working relationships to support efficient test and debug operations.
Apply developing professional expertise and company policies to resolve a variety of technical and process issues.
Follow general instructions for routine work and detailed instructions for new projects or assignments, providing feedback and suggesting improvements where appropriate.
Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment to perform debugging, ATP (Acceptance Test Plan) execution, and verification activities.
Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics to perform accurate assembly, disassembly, and testing.
Utilize ERP systems and computer applications to document test results, track work orders, and support production workflows.
Support a 24/7 global business operation as required, ensuring timely completion of test activities to meet production and delivery schedules.
Demonstrate discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism in all aspects of work.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the test and manufacturing operations.
Essential Skills
2–3 years of hands-on electronics experience, including debugging and testing electronic assemblies.
5+ years of overall experience with demonstrated ability to effectively train and support diverse groups.
Proficiency in debugging electronic circuits and assemblies using schematics, block diagrams, and test equipment.
Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of ERP systems and productivity tools.
Experience with ATP (Acceptance Test Plan) processes and familiarity with MAC address-related testing or configuration.
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics.
Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools, including multimeters and oscilloscopes, for test and debug work.
Basic understanding of test measurement principles and debug techniques for electronic products.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation, reporting, and team interaction.
Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with operators, engineers, and leadership.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to assimilate a wide range of data to form sound conclusions.
Effective multitasking skills with the ability to take on additional responsibilities as required.
Strong organization and prioritization skills with high attention to detail in test execution and documentation.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercising discretion and independent judgment within defined procedures.
Understanding of and ability to use continuous improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
Strong customer service and client focus, ensuring quality and reliability in test outcomes.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and WebEx or similar conferencing software.
Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
2-year Engineering or Technical degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in electronic assembly, mechanical assembly, wiring, and component assembly.
Experience in production environments, assembly lines, and manufacturing processes.
Experience with soldering and PCB (printed circuit board) work.
Familiarity with electronic test equipment and troubleshooting of electronics at various levels.
Comfort using microscopes and other inspection tools for detailed electronic work.
Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and build productive working relationships.
Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion when working on sensitive projects.
Experience participating in or supporting continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.

Work Environment
This position follows a 4/10 schedule on first shift, typically working 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Thursday, with flexibility to work on Friday as needed to support production demands. Work is primarily performed in a clean, fast-paced manufacturing facility that adheres to rigorous quality standards, including AS9100 and additional industry certifications. The environment involves mainly sitting with the option to stand, using standard test and electronic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, hand tools, power tools, microscopes, and computer-based ERP and test systems. The facility supports military and government projects, including highly sensitive programs, and requires compliance with strict security and export control regulations. You operate within a structured, process-driven setting that emphasizes safety, precision, and adherence to detailed work instructions and procedures.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
