About the Job
Morgan Mechanical Inc. is seeking an organized, customer-focused sales/account manager to grow and manage preventative maintenance (PM) contracts for mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, heat pumps, boilers, controls, pumps). This role combines field/office customer engagement, technical knowledge, and contract sales to maximize recurring revenue and retention.
Key responsibilities
- Generate new PM contracts via prospecting, cold outreach, referrals, and networking.
- Manage a portfolio of existing commercial and industrial accounts; act as primary client contact.
- Conduct site surveys and needs assessments with technicians to scope PM services and prepare proposals.
- Develop and present clear, competitive maintenance proposals and service agreements.
- Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and service levels; close deals and secure signed agreements.
- Coordinate with operations/dispatch to schedule recurring visits, inspections, and seasonal maintenance.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction: follow up after service, manage escalations, and resolve issues.
- Track contract deliverables, renewal dates, and upsell opportunities; drive renewals and add-on services.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipelines, forecasts, and weekly/monthly reports.
- Meet or exceed sales, retention, and revenue targets; collaborate with estimating and project teams for larger scopes.
- Stay current on equipment, codes, safety, and industry best practices; support technical training when needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years sales or account management experience in mechanical contracting, facilities services, or HVAC/industrial maintenance preferred.
- Technical understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps, heat pumps, RTUs, controls); ability to interpret basic drawings and specifications.
- Proven track record selling service contracts, PM programs, or recurring maintenance.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable conducting site visits and occasional hands-on assessments.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Sales Manager, Service Trade), MS Office; ability to produce professional proposals.
- Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel regionally and work in customer facilities.
- Preferred: equipment sales, trade background, mechanical license/certification, or technical degree.
