Work involves the use of differentiated case management techniques in Circuit/County Civil case type to promote case progression and disposition. The primary responsibility of an employee in this class is case screening and monitoring, case analysis and coordination of related civil law cases. This position will work closely with the Judiciary, Court and community programs, Civil Manager, Attorneys, the Clerk of Courts, and other related agencies as well as the public. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator with general supervision of the Civil/Family Director.Primary responsibilities of a Program Specialist (Civil Case Manager) include the following: (1) Court case management (2) Case monitoring and coordination (3) Case research and statistics (4) Assist in Small Claims Court; and (5) Other duties as assigned.Examples Of DutiesEssential duties and responsibilities(1) Court Case ManagementPrepare and process case management plans for County Civil casesPrepare other orders as determined by the JudgeMonitor compliance with court ordersAssist Petitioners, Respondents, Pro Se Litigants and AttorneysRespond in a timely manner to inquiries from all parties directly related to the caseProvide litigants with information as to other resources available through the court system or elsewhereAttend court sessions if required by the Judge(2) Case Monitoring and CoordinationQuery various databases to determine the status of casesConsult the Program Coordinator and the Civil Manager, when necessaryCoordinate "new cases" to promote efficiency in the civil case dockets(3) Case Research and StatisticsMaintain accurate and detailed records of all pleadings processedPrepare monthly case management reports to determine Court performance(4) Assist in Small Claims CourtFacilitate hearings/case processingMediate cases when needed(5) Other Duties as AssignedTypical QualificationsQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
