Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart registered nurse position available in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves providing specialized cardiovascular surgical care within a busy surgical environment. The RN will support procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, TAVRs, and heart and lung transplants, requiring circulating experience and proficiency in related skills.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Kentucky state RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), a minimum of 2 years of experience in CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room), and 2 years of dedicated CVOR experience for technicians.
• Skills Required: Circulating experience, Foley catheter management, chest tube management, AED experience; scrub proficiency in Bovie, tourniquet, harmonic, OR bed, stretcher.
• Support within the Department: Managed by experienced healthcare leadership, with 1 RN and 1 technician in all cases.
• Technology/Equipment: Cernero EMR, Plum ICU Medical IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing system, Bovie, tourniquet, harmonic scalpel, OR beds, stretchers, and robotic system (Davinci D5), with robotic experience preferred but not required.
• Float: Vascular OR float to relieve for lunch if comfortable.
• Orientation: Full NEO (Neonatal Electronic Fetal Monitoring) orientation for one week, or 3 days from 0630-1900, 4 days from 0630-1700, or 3 days from 1030-2300.
• Scheduling: Weekend rotations based on unit needs; call required with a 40-minute response time; holiday shifts based on unit requirements; approval of RTO by nurse manager.
• Other Notes: Scrub color is Ceil Blue; free badge access parking is available at the facility.
