The department is growing from 5 to 6 Trauma/Critical Care Surgeons operating under an Acute Care Surgery model.### Clinical Scope

• Iowa Methodist Medical Center ‚Äî 370-bed ACS-verified Level I Trauma Center
\n
• Blank Children's Hospital ‚Äî 88-bed ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center
\n
• 1,700 admissions annually
\n
• One location to cover with a newer ED and Trauma rooms
\n
• Surgery department consists of 5 Trauma/Critical Care Surgeons (growing to 6), 5 General
Surgeons, 4 Colorectal Surgeons, and 1 Surgical Oncologist\n
• General Surgery Residency Program on-site
\n
