Production Planner

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner II for a direct-hire opportunity in San Fernando, CA within a manufacturing environment. This role is a great fit for a planning professional who enjoys building production schedules, coordinating inventory needs, and working closely with operations, customer service, purchasing, and production teams to keep workflow on track.

The Production Planner II will help develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders, sales forecasts, inventory levels, and material availability. Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand, forecasts, inventory levels, and material availability.
- Coordinate with production, purchasing, customer service, and warehouse teams to support on-time order fulfillment and efficient workflow.
- Monitor inventory levels, material constraints, and schedule changes to identify potential shortages or production delays.
- Review customer orders, production capacity, and lead times to help prioritize work orders and scheduling needs.
- Communicate schedule updates, planning issues, and production priorities to cross-functional teams in a timely and professional manner.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to production planning, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $55,000 to $65,000 per year.
- Direct-hire opportunity.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Develop production plans and schedules to support manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate inventory, materials, customer orders, and production priorities.
- Communicate schedule changes and planning updates across internal teams.
- Identify and help resolve production planning or inventory-related challenges.

- 3-5 years of experience in production planning, production scheduling, inventory coordination, or related manufacturing support preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or operations environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to analyze order demand, inventory levels, material availability, and production capacity.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with internal departments.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems, spreadsheets, ERP systems, MRP systems, or production planning tools.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong follow-up, problem-solving, and coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience using ERP or MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience supporting daily, weekly, or monthly production schedules.
- Familiarity with inventory planning, work orders, material availability, and order fulfillment processes.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment.
