DevOps Engineer - Multi-cloud

UBDS Group is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to support the development and operation of cloud-based services across a range of transformation programmes. This role is ideal for an engineer with experience in AWS and/or Azure, looking to further develop their skills in a multi-cloud environment. You will work as part of a collaborative engineering team to build, automate, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure and delivery pipelines. Key Responsibilities Support the design, build, and maintenance of cloud-based services across AWS and Azure Contribute to the development and management of CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient software delivery Assist in implementing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for cloud environments Work within a multi-cloud environment, supporting deployments and services across AWS and Azure Collaborate with development teams to embed DevOps practices and improve delivery workflows Support monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure system performance and reliability Assist with incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis Contribute to automation and process improvements, reducing manual effort and increasing efficiency Participate in code reviews and team collaboration activities Skills & Experience Essential Experience in a DevOps, Cloud Engineer, or similar role Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure; willingness to work across both) Basic experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, ARM, Bicep, or similar) Understanding of cloud-based service development and deployment Knowledge of containerisation (e.g. Docker; Kubernetes exposure beneficial)Awareness of monitoring and logging tools (e.g. CloudWatch, Azure Monitor) Understanding of version control systems (e.g. Git) Basic knowledge of cloud networking and security principles Desirable Experience working in a multi-cloud environment (AWS and Azure) Exposure to serverless technologies (e.g. AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) Experience in public sector or regulated environments Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies Interest in platform engineering or automation best practices Security Requirements This role may require Security Clearance (SC). Candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo the clearance process.
