About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Acute Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Strong Neuro skills Description: The position is within an acute rehabilitation unit focused on various diagnoses including neuro, neurosurgery, amputations, multi-trauma, cardiac, and complex medical cases. The nurse-patient ratio during day shifts is 5:1 and 6:1 during night shifts. Nurses will participate in team conferences for acute inpatient rehab. There are house supervisors on duty; no charge nurses are present. Nurse aides are available on the unit with a 1:9 or 1:10 ratio. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy services are provided. Patients may require CPAP or BiPAP for sleep apnea at night. Shifts are 7 AM to 7:30 PM for days and 7 PM to 7:30 AM for nights. Every other weekend and holiday rotation is expected. Floating to other units may be required, with specific training for floating to certain care settings. Scrubs can be in any color, but t-shirts are not allowed unless approved. Unit-specific orientation includes a combination of classroom and preceptorship training. The charting system used is electronic and requires familiarity for documentation.
