Job Description

This role supports the production, preparation, and packaging of food products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will assemble finished goods such as taco kits, salads, and salsas, prepare them for shipment, and help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient production plant and warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the production, preparation, and storage of food products according to established procedures.
• Assemble taco kits for wholesale customers in the Kits position.
• Assemble salads and salsas in the CV Packaging area, ensuring accurate portioning and correct components.
• Place boxed products on pallets in an organized and secure manner for shipping and storage.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in the production plant and warehouse, including cleaning work areas and equipment as needed.
• Follow all company safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.
• Work efficiently on the production line to meet daily output and quality targets.
• Handle packaging materials, labels, and containers carefully to avoid damage and contamination.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and resolve basic production or packaging issues.
• Be available to work both weekend days, with one day off during the week, and perform overtime as required.

Essential Skills

• 6 months of production or packaging experience required for Machine Operator roles.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as packaging, picking, and production work for extended periods.
• Comfort working in a cold environment around 40 degrees with food odors and wet, slippery floors.
• Ability to lift, move, and stack boxed products onto pallets safely.
• Willingness to work both days of the weekend with one weekday off.
• Reliability and punctuality in a first-shift schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with weekend overtime.
• Attention to detail to ensure correct assembly and packaging of products.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including safety guidelines and GMPs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• No prior experience required for Packager or Kits positions; on-the-job training is provided.
• Previous experience in food production, packaging, or warehouse environments is a plus.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented production setting.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing or food handling practices is beneficial.

Work Environment

You work in a refrigerated food production facility with temperatures around 40 degrees, where food odors are present and floors can be wet and slippery. The role is primarily on first shift, running from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with regular weekend overtime. You spend most of your time on your feet on the production floor, handling packaging materials and finished products, and collaborating closely with a team in a busy, high-output environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Carlsbad,CA.
