Staff Radiation Therapist

Role Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering ionizing radiation treatments according to physician prescriptions. Key Responsibilities Operate radiation equipment safely and precisely, adhering to quality control standards. Assess and care for patients across all age groups, documenting in Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Perform patient set-ups, simulations, and coordinate treatment schedules, ensuring safety protocols. Educate patients and families on treatment side effects and use of treatment aids. Report adverse reactions immediately and follow policies for documentation. Participate in safety procedures, warm-up routines, and maintain radiation safety badges. Assist in training students, support team tasks, and participate in on-call rotations. Qualifications Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited program. ARRT Radiation Therapy certification and BLS certification required upon hire. Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred. Skills in patient simulation, treatment, and safety practices.
