We are recruiting a Sr. Accountant for a growing company in the RTP area.  This role will be responsible for owning key aspects of the month-end close, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, supporting financial reporting, and helping strengthen the company's internal control environment.   This is an ideal role for an Accountant who enjoys leveraging technology to improve efficiency and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Own assigned areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and resolve accounting issues while maintaining strong balance sheet integrity.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and provide meaningful analysis to accounting leadership.
• Support the design, documentation, and execution of internal controls in a SOX-compliant environment.
• Partner with internal and external auditors by coordinating audit requests, preparing supporting documentation, and assisting with walkthroughs and testing.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on streamlining the close process, strengthening controls, and increasing automation.
• Leverage ERP systems, reporting tools, and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and enhance financial reporting.
• Collaborate with finance and operational teams to ensure accurate financial data and consistent accounting practices across the organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA is preferred as is public accounting experience
• 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close responsibilities.

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Exposure to automation tools, AI platforms, or other technologies used to improve accounting processes.
