Shift Notes

This position requires a commitment to a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with a 36-hour guarantee . The Registered Nurse may be required to float to various units within their skill level as necessary. The role includes working every other weekend and does not require on-call duties.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse, you will assume responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients during your shift. Your duties include:

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care based on age-specific criteria.
• Utilizing scientific knowledge and clinical skills to make informed judgments.
• Planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff, such as LPNs, Patient Care Technicians (PCT), and Unit Secretaries.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are required for this position:

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Competence with cardiac medications, including but not limited to Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardine, Dobutamine, Lasix, and Bumex, along with knowledge of titration and application of these medications.
• Proficiency in telemetry with a solid understanding of heart rhythms.
• Critical thinking skills with the ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient status.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of signs and symptoms of stroke, with the ability to recognize changes in patient status and intervene appropriately.

Profile Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must provide the following:

• Work history and experience relevant to the specialty (Med Surg/Telemetry).
• Skills checklist current to within the last year, relevant to Med Surg/Telemetry.
• Active RN license in Ohio or a compact license.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Active NIHSS certification.
