About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiovascular Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:00-16:30 Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 2+ years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Critical care experience; excellent documentation; ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity patient area; excellent communication skills with interdepartmental team; good critical thinking skills. Description: The position involves working in a cardiovascular surgery unit. The unit has a patient ratio of 1:1. Staffing includes RNs with support from a clinical nurse coordinator, secretary, and manager. The type of equipment utilized includes GE Carescape Monitoring and Fuji ultrasound. Documentation is performed using an electronic health record system. The schedule typically follows a Monday to Friday pattern. On-call requirements may include staying late 1-2 times a week. Floating within the scope of practice and experience may be required. Candidates should possess excellent patient experience skills. Advanced skills include large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, skin assessment, and assistance with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement. Transporting patients to the operating room and assisting with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep are also responsibilities.
