Shift Timings: 08:00-16:30 Monday to Friday (8 Hours/5 Days)
Per Week: 40 Hours
Education: Graduate from an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or Associate's Degree in related field required. Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
Certifications: Must have one of the following primary certification: NMTCB(CNMT) or ARRT(N). Additional post-primary advanced certification preferred: ARRT(CT), NMTCB(PET), NMTCB(NCT).
Requirements: 2 years of post-program graduate experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist required. BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required. CTNM - State of California Certified Tech Nuclear Medicine all scopes including venipuncture required.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.
- Position patients and select anatomic and technical factors accurately.
- Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
- Ensure equipment is properly functioning.
- Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
- Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department.
