Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading- edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. In the domain of Rotating Machinery (centrifugal compressors, cryogenic expanders, pumps, and reciprocating compressors), support plant operations with additional capability on process, operational troubleshooting, and design within the perimeter of the CTE (Center for Technical Expertise) with primary responsibilities in Large Industries USA, and Canada, and additional support to Mexico and Trinidad as well as Electronics and Airgas business lines. Responsibilities include participation in pre- TAR planning, TAR supervision and execution, follow-up reports and possible external shop monitoring of components to make repair recommendations and monitor quality control. Job Description Safety and Environment Interpret regulatory requirements, industry codes, Group Industrial Policy, and IMS documents to implement and maintain compliant operations. Support the preparation of CTE Guidance Documents for selected Group documents (GTs and GEs). Review selected RCA reports for both Process Safety and Reliability incidents. Lead and/or participate in selected incident investigations. Provide leadership and guidance to drive continuous improvement in reliability and efficiency of rotating equipment. Support the development of selected risk assessments for new and existing assets and in the implementation of subsequent action plans. Support selected entity and Group‑level LI IMS audits in the Americas Hub as technical auditor as it pertains to rotating machinery technology. Participate in the Air Liquide Group‑level working groups developing GTs in the rotating machinery technology area. Ability to troubleshoot design problems or calculations from OEM which lead to improper operational parameters, or consistent downtime. Design Support organization for execution of new capital projects. Act as owner's representative for the design reviews as required. Provide engineering with technical support and guidance for Plant Projects. Serve as design authority as required. Review and provide risk assessment for proposed changes to existing rotating machinery via Management of Change (MOC) process. In cooperation with E&C, develop standard equipment specification and engineering practices for rotating machinery. Ensure subsidiary compliance with directives from AL Group related to rotating machinery. Operations Provide operations support to all entities with regard to rotating machinery. Collaborate with large rotating machinery vendors and OEMs, ensuring quality control in repairs, and witness assembly and testing of equipment as required. Respond to urgent rotating machinery issues. Apply process understanding and control systems strategies to improve reliability and/or efficiency and support CTE’s Process Control Technology department. Recommend process and cost‑saving improvement opportunities. As required, support the design and implementation of these cost‑saving ideas. Issue advisories to spread best practices and prevent recurrence of incidents. Work closely with entity engineering disciplines to assure latest technology is identified and deployed. When requested, review plant‑level operating procedures (SOP) for scope, technical accuracy and best‑practice identification. Be aware of Group initiatives for rotating machinery technology domain; provide interpretation for implementation and participate in development of such programs. Provide support for Group programs for rotating machinery technology including developing the implementation plan together with the entities and monitoring compliance status. Participate strongly in Americas Rotating Machinery Technology KNOE and if assigned, participate in WW CoP. Training Build a documented knowledge base of Rotating Machinery technology operational expertise. Provide technical content and training for Rotating Machinery technology. Mentor and support developing employees to expand knowledge sharing; disseminate rather than protect information. Act as coach for protégés (assigned or otherwise). Business Development Attend and contribute to selected project development meetings. Provide technical support to CI during development and execution of new Rotating Machinery capital projects. Job Requirements BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, required with +15 years of rotating machinery experience. Detailed knowledge of various types of compressors, turbines, pumps, and fan designs and maintenance. Solution‑oriented, with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. Lubrication knowledge and expertise. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to perform under stress and time constraints. Comfortable in both corporate and plant environments. Ability to effectively work within a diverse, international organization. Can be consulted 24/7 by Plant Managers and Maintenance personnel. Able to wear FRC clothing and other PPE. Advanced skills with Google suite of tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, etc.). Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job‑related operational and safety trainings. Up to 50% domestic travel. Preferred Qualifications Detailed knowledge of Oxygen Compression Equipment and Oxygen Cleanliness procedures and documentation requirements (preferable).
