OPW is part of the Clean Energy & Fueling segment of Dover (NYSE: DOV).Produces machined parts using a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathe machine. Studies work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Checks SPC charts for frequency of checks, gauging and measurements. A Support 2 requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and may require vocational or technical education. Responsibilities typically include: Works under moderate supervision. Problems are typically of a routine nature, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation.Primary Responsibilities/Essential ResponsibilitiesMachine operation involves loading and tending runs of parts, or performing one-step operations on individual partsPositions and secures tools in holding device, machine tables, chuck, centers, and fixturesVerifies conformance of machined work piece to specificationsReads blueprints, job orders, tooling instructions, and standard charts for such specifications as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructionsUnderstand and perform to all quality regulations, standards and policies, including but not limited to ISO 9001:2015 and AAR M-1003. Follow work procedures and ensure highest level of qualityIndexes turret and adjusts positions of tools at each station in relation to work piece to assure clearance between moving parts and machining of specified dimensions and tolerancesStarts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as requiredPressure test parts according to drawing or work procedure.Performs housekeeping duties including 5S, coolant replacement, and TPMMust be able to perform simple inspection using calipers, micrometers, and other miscellaneous gagesMay participate in defining strategies to meet quality objectives and in system reviews within the teamQualifications/RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED3+ years direct CNC experience or formal CNC training from accredited program combined with 1+ years experience post trainingExperience reading blue printsMust be able to run CNC equipment in one cell, including:Change jawsChange tools/touch offLad programRun first piece and make adjustments based on quality inspectionDesired Characteristics, Competence and CapabilitiesMust possess proficient reading, writing, and computation skillsMust possess good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordinationAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentPrior experience with multi axis CNC equipment highly desirablePhysical Demands and Environmental ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the team member is continuously standing, repetitively grasping and repetitively using fine manipulation with the hands. The team member may be frequently required to walk, bend, squat, or twist as well as repetitively push or pull. The team member must be able to lift 10-20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistanceThis position is performed in a manufacturing environment. Team members in this position may be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, hot temperatures, chemicals and vapors. The team member may occasionally be required to work in an office environmentBench-type or floor-mounted machines (e.g. drill presses, grinders, broaches, screw machines, manual and CNC mills and lathes, saws, shrink-wrap machines, etc.) hand and power tools, measuring instruments, hoist, lifts, and lift trucks.Pay Range: USD 25.75 - 30.00 HourlyThis position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
