The Opportunity 

Greenwich House is seeking a creative and engaging Digital Arts and Stop Motion Animation Specialist to lead art-based activities for children and youth ages 8-17 at the Queens and Manhattan Family Justice Centers. Working in collaboration with counseling and youth services staff, this position will provide opportunities for children impacted by domestic and gender-based violence to express themselves through art, storytelling, animation, and creative projects.

The Specialist will also support youth events, family activities, and other programming designed to promote healing, resilience, and positive social engagement. Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides 2.5 hours at each site weekly planning and implementing stop go animation and other graphic arts projects for children. 
• Plan creative art activities to assist children in exploring their feelings through story, imagination, and creativity.
• Familiarity with stop-motion capture software, camera operations, stage lighting, and basic rigging.
• Support children in exploring feelings and experiences through storytelling, imagination, and art.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain art supplies, animation equipment, and project materials. 
• Collaborate with counseling, case management, and youth services staff to support participant engagement. 
• Assist with family events, youth activities, workshops, and special programs. 
• Track participation and provide program updates as requested.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in the Arts, Fine Arts or Sciences including Graphic Design, Film, and Digital Animation
• Must have 1-2 years’ experience working with traumatized children and their families.
• Experience working with individuals and families affected by domestic violence, gender-based violence, mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and LGBTQ+ communities preferred.

• Schedule: 5 hours per week; 2:30 - 5:00PM
• FLSA Classification:  Non-Exempt
• Employment Type : Part Time
• Reports to:  Director of Family Justice Services
• Union Representation:  Non-Union

Salary Range 

The expected rate for this position is $45.00 - $50.00 per hour. This range reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of this posting and may be adjusted based on experience, education, and organizational needs.
