Career SpecialistSituated in the heart of the artsy East Village, our program supports participants coming from all Five Boroughs of New York City, proposing a wide array of services to develop their personal potential and progress towards their life role goalJob DescriptionEstablish networks with employers and educators and maintains information on community resources and employment entities (e.g. DOL, VESID, One-Stop).Provide evidence-based practice services including Wellness Self-Management (WSM) and Supported Employment (IPS).Provide crisis intervention services and recommendations for treatment and referral as needed.Conduct vocational and educational assessments and synthesizes information for use in problem solving to assess individual needs.Provide individualized services related to skills development and resource acquisition addressing barriers to career development (educational and vocational).Facilitate vocational readiness and other rehabilitation-based classes, meetings, groups, and other activities.Manage job development, placement and follow-up support in community and complete employment registrations in NYESS.Carries a caseload of 10-15 participants receiving ORS services.QualificationsMaster's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counselling or in relevant field preferred – work experience within field may be substituted for degree.1-2 experience working in mental health rehabilitation setting and 1-year experience with supported employment practice or another vocational program.Must be fingerprinted and cleared by the Office of Mental Health (OMH).Bilingual Spanish-speaking, preferred.LocationCommunity Access, Inc. is hiring for a Career Specialist Position in East Village, New York City.
