The position is intended to develop a future HR executive capable of assuming broader leadership responsibilities over time. We seek an HR generalist who can build trusted partnerships across the organization, influence business outcomes, and help advance O&Gs strategic objectives while preserving the values and culture that have contributed to O&G's longstanding success. This highly visible management position reports directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer.Serve as the CHROs primary deputy, working collaboratively with the CHRO to provide depth and continuity across ERISA, employee benefits, performance, and compensation management. The role supports ownership, executive leadership, and workforce culture within a complex, safety-sensitive construction environment.Collaborate with the CHRO and ownership on the strategy, design, and administration of all employee benefit programs, including medical, retirement (DB/DC), wellness, and leave and return to work programsPartner with the CHRO and CFO as an ERISA fiduciary, supporting governance, documentation, audits, plan corrections, and vendor managementEngage collaboratively with owners and executive leadership on sensitive workforce, compliance, and risk-related mattersSupport and reinforce workforce culture initiatives aligned with safety, accountability, performance, leadership capabilities, and operational excellenceCollaborate with business leaders to improve performance management and talent developmentMentor and develop emerging HR talent in coordination with the CHRO to strengthen internal team and succession readinessThe ideal candidate is a highly credible HR professional who combines strategic thinking with practical execution. This individual is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, managing complex workforce issues, and building strong relationships at all levels within O&G. QualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field requiredMaster's degree and/or SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CEBS, or related certification preferred12+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant leadership responsibilityExperience supporting multi-site and a field-based workforceCompliance experience working in a regulated industry preferred (OFCCP, CHRO, CTDOT, etc.)Working knowledge of but not limited to ERISA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA/wage and hour, labor relations, benefits compliance, compensation, and employment lawExperience supporting executive leadership teams and advising senior business leaders on -site - this is not a remote and/or hybrid work roleLeadership CharacteristicsHigh integrity and sound judgmentCalm, steady, and effective under pressureStrong executive presence and credibilityLow ego, high accountability, and team-orientedExceptional communication and relationship-building skillsDemonstrated ability to influence without relying on authorityStrategic thinker who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves Proven track record navigating audits, investigations, litigation, organizational change, and complex workforce challengesWe value strong organization, thoughtful collaboration, and genuine investment in team success.
