Job Summary And Qualifications The Cardiovascular Technologist must be able todemonstratethe knowledge and skills in the care of his/ her patients. The delivery of care is based on criteria thatisage appropriate and is based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety, and learning needs of the individual patient. The CardiovascularTechwill perform only those duties for which he/ shehas demoberated. The Cardiovascular Tech performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophyand overall plan of care at Swedish Medical Center. The Cardiovascular Tech works as a team member toassist the physician in performing invasive cardiac procedures. Duties includescrubbing,recording during procedures. The Cardiovascular Tech performs ancillary duties related to the job such as quality control, inventoryand stocking as assigned by the manager/supervisor. Provides all customers with the service/tests needed in a safe,friendlyand efficient manner. The Cardiovascular Technologist’s aim is to provide quality health carein the area ofcardiac or other vascular related procedures as required by the Cardiac Cath Lab Department. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. II. PositionRequirements: Licensure/Certification/Registration: A Cardiovascular Technologist must have an active registry or certification of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), LPN, scrub tech, EMT-Paramedic, or CNA. If none of the above apply, a degree in Exercise Physiology is acceptable. Current BLS and ACLS Certifications from ARC or AHA. Education and Training: Associate and or Bachelors in Health Scienceis preferred. Graduate of an accredited CVT program preferred. Experience: One-year experience in current field preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Skills commensuratewith formal training or on the job training such as operation of all cardiovascular lab equipment and instrumentation, scrub andmonitorto include emergent procedures. Displaysgood communicationand organizational skills. Adheres to departmental safety and quality controls. Must have a good working knowledge of radiographic, hemodynamic monitoring, recording equipment and/or devicesrelative to cardiovascular procedures as determinedby the Director. Musthave basic keyboard and computer skills.
