Location: 195 Platt Street, Milford, Connecticut, 06460 Director of Plant Operations Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Long-Term Care setting experience required What You'll Do: As the Director of Plant Operations, you’ll oversee the people and processes that keep our facility safe, functional, and beautiful - every hour of every day. Your leadership will ensure our residents, staff, and visitors experience a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that supports high-quality healthcare. From emergency preparedness to everyday repairs, your work will make a direct difference in the lives of everyone who walks through our doors. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all mechanical, structural, and operational aspects of the facility, inside and out. Lead the creation, upkeep, and execution of our Emergency Preparedness Plan. Recruit, coach, and inspire a skilled maintenance team; oversee housekeeping and/or laundry operations. Set and manage schedules for staff, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely, high-quality work. Inspect buildings and grounds regularly to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance. Maintain critical systems, including plumbing, boilers, burners, heating, and hot water. Plan and oversee electrical system upgrades and equipment installations. Ensure full compliance with all safety, sanitary, health, and fire codes, including NFPA 101 for healthcare facilities. Manage departmental budgets, from supply ordering to invoice approvals. Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate teams. Clear, confident communication skills and proficiency in English (written and verbal). The ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments. Availability to respond to emergencies outside regular working hours.
