Residential Manager In Flight, Inc. – Glasco, New York, United States About this Position At In Flight, Inc., we empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach for hopes and dreams and support a meaningful quality of life. In Flight Inc. is a nonprofit that provides support services within a home environment and the community for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Scope of Work The Residential Manager is responsible for the overall health, safety and well-being of the residential group home residents, as well as the supervision and direction of the IRA assigned. A motivated leader that will provide administrative leadership, guidance and supervision while overseeing program development, implementation and documentation that promotes person-centered practices. Qualifications Prefer an AAS degree and 2 years supervisory experience in the DD field or HS/GED with 3 years’ supervisory experience preferably with IDD population. Ability to manage others and strong communication skills. Must have strong organizational skills and writing skills. Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities is highly preferred. Job Duties Supports the weekly scheduling of residential staff to ensure client ratios meet required standards for resident supervision and meaningful programming on all shifts. Provides leadership, supervision, and training to in‑house Team Leads, DSPs, and other professional staff, including on the floor supervision to ensure specific duties are assigned. Leverages motivation and positive morale to optimize care of residents. Maintains sufficient flexibility for assignments and schedule, and is available for consultation and support during non‑business hours. Works forty hours per week, including a minimum of sixteen hours per month on the weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Schedules include at least three evenings and one early‑morning visit per week, with a minimum one night‑shift visit per month, subject to program needs. Manages all house and resident monies and oversees house and property maintenance. Reviews and verifies billing documentation for each program weekly. Coordinates and oversees financial operations of programs, including timely payroll review and approval, financial reporting, spending and budget monitoring, and Medicaid billing documentation (e.g., THERAP). Ensures daily completion of data documentation for all houses. Conducts and records monthly fire drills, reporting any potentially dangerous conditions to the Residential Director. Works closely with Human Resources to train, coach, supervise, and evaluate Residential Staff. Collaborates with the Training Coordinator to ensure training compliance and identify training needs. Conducts and documents monthly staff meetings. Acts as the lead person for crisis situations. Ensures proper documentation and notifications to parents, guardians, and care coordinators. Oversees incident management to ensure timely and accurate submission of required documentation and notifications. Supports oversight and management of program funds and expenditures, ensuring accurate records, receipt submission, daily reconciliation, and expense log monitoring. Reviews resident monthly progress notes to ensure accuracy and timely submission. Assesses overall program atmosphere, observes staff and resident interactions, conducts unannounced supervisory checks, resolves staff and resident issues, and provides training corrections as needed. Colects with other supervisory staff for facility checks, unannounced visits, food service, clothing room, purchasing, personal care, and household supplies. Coordinates supervisory coverage and staffing with other Managers as needed. Skills Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Math: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, percentages; interpret bar graphs; calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions in both abstract and concrete forms. Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to stand and walk; occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Conditions of Employment The employee agrees to comply with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, rules, regulations and standards of conduct. All staff must pass NYS Justice Center background checks and physical evaluations.
