Primary Care Physician (Family Medicine / Internal Medicine)

The VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System is seeking Board Certified / Board Eligible Primary Care Physicians (Family Medicine or Internal Medicine) to support 3.0 FTE coverage (6,240 hours annually) across multiple VA outpatient and medical center locations. The contract requires five (5) credentialed physicians who will rotate to maintain continuous coverage, with each provider completing a minimum of 120 consecutive workdays per rotation to ensure continuity of care and strong patient-provider relationships. This is an on-site, weekday-only role serving U.S. Veterans in a structured, team-based clinical environment.

• Rochester VA Outpatient Clinic, 260 Calkins Rd., Rochester, NY 14623
• Wellsville VA Outpatient Clinic, 3458 Riverside Drive, Wellsville, NY 14895
• Wellsboro VA Outpatient Clinic, 1835 Shumway Hill Road, Wellsboro, PA 16901
• Elmira VA Outpatient Clinic, 1316 College Avenue, Elmira, NY 14901

Schedule & Hours:

• Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (VA Business Hours)
• 40 hours/week ½ hour unpaid lunch
• No weekends No on-call
• Occasional pre-approved overtime may be requested

Each site is fully staffed with MSA, LPN, and RN support.

Provider Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive primary care services on-site
• Maintain compliance with VA clinic wait-time standards
• Provide consistent patient coverage during assigned rotations
• Coordinate care within an interdisciplinary VA care team
• Notify COR monthly of any barriers to performance metrics

Minimum Requirements:

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Medicine (ABFM) or Internal Medicine (ABIM)
• Active, unrestricted medical license
• DEANPIAHA BLS & ACLS
• Ability to complete VA credentialing
• Occupational Health & Immunizations
• MMR (vaccine or titer)
• Hepatitis B (vaccine or titer)
• Varicella (vaccine or titer)
• TB test (skin test, bloodwork, or chest X-ray)
• Flu vaccine
• Tdap
