Job Summary: Operates X-Ray equipment in the examination of patients in accordance with standard procedure and physician\'s instructions. Provides treatment/care to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Responsibilities Maintains a positive attitude; communicates with persons in other departments or outside the practice, maintaining harmonious relationships. Demonstrates appropriate communication of information to all ages; responsive to patients and office staff requests and needs. Performs all other duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as required in an emergency (e.g., fire or disaster). Provides and performs: telephone handling, orders/messages, and phone triage (physician orders, patient issues, staff–patient care, referrals, precertification, etc.). Ensures compliance with appropriate health and safety regulatory agencies. Performs scheduling and assists with referrals, appointments, ancillaries, surgeries (inpatient and outpatient), hospital admissions, medical records, and documentation. Works with forms and manages chart structure, maintenance, filing/pulling (diagnostic reports, transcription, correspondence), image files, faxing, copying and mail in/out. Laboratory: phlebotomy; specimen collection and processing; proficiency testing; results reporting. Medication management (as applicable): intravenous, IV push (RN only), subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal; oral, topical, suppository, sublingual, inhalants; storage and handling; ordering/maintaining levels. Patient care: exam room preparation and maintenance; conducts patient interviews; chaperone as needed; assisting/performed minor procedures; triage (by telephone or in person); implement physician orders; patient education; results reporting; clinical documentation. Clinical support duties including scheduling, referrals, ancillaries, surgeries, hospital services, documentation, coding/billing tasks and related office procedures. Qualifications Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum Years of Experience: None Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): None Required Certifications/Licensure: Currently possess and maintain SCRQSA certification for Limited Practice Radiographer in at least one designation (General, Chest, Podiatric, Chiropractic and/or Bone Densitometry). Required Training: Successful completion of an educational course/program meeting SCRQSA requirements; familiarity with anatomy and radiology computer systems; ability to treat patients of all ages.
