Biomedical Engineer

Biomedical engineering professionals can leverage their expertise to contribute to AI research projects aimed at enhancing Large Language Models (LLMs) within specialized domains. This role invites bachelor’s graduates to collaborate with a community of subject-matter experts, focusing on the intersection of biomedical engineering and artificial intelligence. Key Responsibilities

• Engage in remote and asynchronous work, allowing for independent contributions from any location.
• Commit approximately 10 to 20 hours per week to project work, which includes developing domain-specific prompts and evaluating LLM responses.
• Dedicate time to researching topics of interest, utilizing AI tools to assist in your exploration.
• Learn new skills while actively participating in the evolving field of AI across various disciplines.
• Placement in specific projects will depend on availability within your domain.

• Must be a junior, senior, or recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering.
• Graduates should come from a top 20 undergraduate institution.
• Able to engage in primarily asynchronous work in collaboration with leading AI labs.
• Confidence in your ability to surpass current AI systems in understanding and explaining key concepts in biomedical engineering.
• This program is open to U.S.-based doctoral students, candidates, and recent graduates with valid work or training authorization (e.g., F-1/OPT, J-1, H-1B). Participants must ensure compliance with their visa conditions and confirm eligibility with their program or visa sponsor prior to applying.
• Currently, we cannot accommodate candidates on STEM OPT who require an i-983. However, fellows with already approved i-983s, as well as those on pre-grad OPT, CPT, J-1, or H-1B, are eligible.

• Remote and asynchronous work environment.
• Flexible hours with a commitment of approximately 10 to 20 hours per week.

• Up to $50/hr (depending on the project).

• Open to U.S.-based candidates with valid work or training authorization.
