Job Description
Exciting Night Shift Opportunity for a Dynamic Nurse!

Job Description:


- Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)


- RTO Policy:
- No requests for time off after booking.
- Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could potentially lead to cancellation and DNR.


- Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience required.
- 1st-time travelers welcome.
- Locals accepted with a rate difference.


- Skills Needed:
- IV start, Vent management, Telemetry, CPAP/BiPAP,
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.


- Certifications Required:
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS preferred.


- Patient Population:
- COPD, Pneumonia, Respiratory distress,
- COVID-19, Influenza, Pulmonary Embolism.


- Target Ratios:
- 1:4-5 (Mixed acuity unit; PCU and MS/Tele patients)
- In extreme situations, could rise to a 1:6 ratio.


- Unit Orientation:
- 24 hours of orientation provided.


- Float Requirement:
- Required to float to like units.


- Weekend Requirement:
- Every other weekend.


- Special Procedures/Unit Details:
- High acuity medical-surgical unit.
- Operates with a supportive team including:
- Team lead present.
- 2 respiratory therapists for rounding.
- Assistant nurse manager on duty during shifts.


- Resources Available on the Unit:
- Admission/Discharge nurse.
- Vascular Access Team, Code Team, RRT,
- Behavioral Health Team.


- Special Equipment:
- Chest tubes, Ventilators, CPAPs/BiPAPs,
- Cardiac & Vasoactive drips.


- Unit Systems:
- Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR.


- Scheduling Type:
- Can accommodate block scheduling based on unit needs.
