As we continue expanding across the Southeast, we’re looking for a **Director of Broker Relations** to lead and grow Coastal’s relationships with waste and recycling brokers, consultants, agents, and strategic industry partners.This is an opportunity for an experienced industry professional to take ownership of a growing channel, strengthen existing partnerships, develop new relationships, and turn those relationships into **profitable, long-term business for Coastal.** **Your Role** As the **Director of Broker Relations**, you’ll own Coastal’s broker-channel strategy and serve as a senior relationship leader for our broker and strategic partners.You’ll spend your time building relationships, understanding opportunities, connecting brokers with Coastal’s capabilities, and working across Sales, Operations, Finance, Pricing, Customer Experience, Marketing, and Legal to make sure the business we pursue makes sense for both the customer and Coastal. You’ll also bring the voice of the market back into the organization, helping our leaders understand what brokers and customers are seeing, where opportunities are developing, and how Coastal can continue to compete and grow. **What You’ll Do*** Build, strengthen, and expand relationships with waste and recycling brokers, consultants, agents, and strategic industry partners.* Develop and execute Coastal’s broker strategy across existing and emerging markets.* Serve as the senior point of contact for key broker relationships and create an exceptional partner experience.* Identify new broker relationships and expand opportunities with existing partners across Coastal’s markets and service offerings.* Partner with Sales to turn broker opportunities into profitable, long-term customer relationships.* Evaluate opportunities through both a **growth and profitability lens**, considering revenue, margin, pricing, service requirements, and operational feasibility.* Monitor broker performance, pipeline, retention, volume, pricing, and profitability and provide meaningful insights to leadership.* Partner with Sales, Finance, Pricing, and Legal on broker agreements, pricing, commissions, incentives, and commercial terms.* Work closely with Operations and Customer Experience to ensure we deliver on our commitments and quickly resolve service escalations.* Establish consistent broker onboarding, communication, performance expectations, and relationship-management practices.* Stay connected to waste and recycling market conditions, competitors, disposal economics, pricing trends, and emerging opportunities.* Represent Coastal at broker and customer meetings, industry conferences, networking events, and strategic business development opportunities.* **At Coastal, we win as a team.** You’ll connect our external partners with the right people across Coastal to create sustainable growth, exceptional service, and profitable business. **What You’ll Bring*** 7+ years of progressive experience in waste and recycling, environmental services, business development, strategic accounts, broker relations, or a related commercial role.* Experience developing and managing broker, consultant, strategic partner, national account, or third-party sales relationships.* Strong understanding of commercial waste and recycling services, hauling operations, disposal, recycling, and related service offerings.* A demonstrated ability to build relationships that translate into profitable revenue growth.* Strong understanding of pricing, margins, contract structures, commissions, and service profitability.* Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.* Business and financial acumen with the ability to evaluate opportunities beyond top-line revenue.* Ability to influence and collaborate across Sales, Operations, Finance, Customer Experience, and executive leadership.* Executive presence and the ability to represent Coastal confidently with brokers, customers, consultants, and industry partners.* Ability to travel regularly based on business needs. **Even Better If You Have:*** An established network within the waste and recycling broker community.* Direct experience in the waste and recycling industry.* Experience managing multi-market or national broker relationships.* A track record of growing broker-generated revenue while maintaining strong margins.* Experience supporting commercial, industrial, C&D, recycling, or multi-location accounts.* Experience with CRM, sales analytics, or business intelligence platforms.* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Environmental Services, or a related field.* Bilingual English/Spanish skills. **Why You’ll Love Working Here*** Highly Competitive Pay* Performance-Based Incentive Opportunity* Comprehensive Medical, Dental & Vision Benefits* 401(k) with Company Match* Paid Time Off* Professional Development & Career Growth Opportunities* The opportunity to build and shape a growing business channel* Direct access to operational and executive leadership* The ability to develop relationships across Coastal’s expanding footprint* A growing company where your relationships, ideas, and results can make a visible impact Coastal is growing, and we’re looking for someone who understands that the best broker relationships aren’t transactional.
