Gotham Enterprises Ltd is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This full-time position is integral to our rehabilitation clinic, where you will assist in delivering exceptional patient care and support the implementation of individualized therapeutic treatment plans designed to enhance mobility and overall functionality.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite within a hospital setting in beautiful Virginia Beach, Virginia, known for its vibrant community and stunning coastal views. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, ensuring a cohesive approach to patient care. Our clinic operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility required to meet patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in the development and implementation of tailored treatment plans aimed at improving mobility, strength, and overall functionality of patients.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities, promoting their physical health and alleviating pain.
• Educate patients on proper body mechanics and effective exercise techniques, as well as home exercise programs that support their rehabilitation.
• Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under the direction of the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, noting improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional capabilities.
• Maintain well-organized treatment areas, ensuring immediate availability of equipment and supplies necessary for therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and enhance recovery outcomes.
• Provide emotional and motivational support to patients during their rehabilitation, helping to foster a positive healing environment.
• Adhere to all ethical and professional standards, safeguarding patient confidentiality and respecting their rights.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological conditions, sports injuries, and age-related mobility challenges. This variety requires a compassionate and adaptable approach, tailoring rehabilitation strategies to meet each patient’s unique needs and goals.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
• A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and relevant therapeutic interventions in physical therapy.
• Proficiency in executing therapeutic exercises and modalities under the Physical Therapist's guidance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary for building rapport with patients and working effectively within a healthcare team.
• A compassionate, patient-centered approach with a genuine desire to aid in patient recovery.
• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on advancements in physical therapy practices.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in a rehabilitation setting is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems can be advantageous.
• Experience in a collaborative care environment is highly beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary range of USD 50,000 to 65,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
