Billing Specialist

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and dependable Billing Specialist to join our team in a remote, part-time capacity. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with numbers, maintaining accurate records, and assisting customers with billing-related questions.

The successful candidate will help process billing information, review invoices, maintain account records, and respond to routine billing inquiries. Applicants should have strong organizational skills, basic computer knowledge, and a willingness to learn. Paid training will be provided to help qualified candidates understand company procedures, billing systems, and daily responsibilities.

Requirements/Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and process invoices and billing statements accurately.
Verify billing information and maintain up-to-date customer account records.
Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, balances, and billing discrepancies.
Review account information to identify errors and resolve routine billing issues.
Enter and update billing data in company systems.
Monitor outstanding invoices and assist with payment follow-ups as assigned.
Communicate professionally with customers and internal departments regarding billing concerns.
Maintain accurate documentation of billing transactions and account adjustments.
Protect confidential customer and financial information.
Follow company billing procedures, quality standards, and applicable privacy requirements.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic math, data entry, and computer skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to organize information and manage multiple tasks.
Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, and online computer systems.
Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Reliable internet connection and a suitable workspace.
Willingness to learn new billing software and company procedures.
Previous billing, administrative, bookkeeping, or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
