Part-Time Maintenance Engineer Location: Hampton Inn – Biloxi, MS Position Type: Part-Time Position Summary The Part-Time Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the overall upkeep of the hotel’s physical facilities, mechanical systems, and equipment to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and staff. This role involves performing routine preventive maintenance, responding to service requests, and supporting the hotel’s operations to maintain Hampton Inn brand standards. Key Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Complete minor repairs on guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, including painting, carpentry, and basic plumbing. Respond promptly to guest service requests and resolve maintenance issues with minimal disruption. Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean, safe, and organized. Monitor and maintain pool, fitness, and laundry equipment in compliance with safety and health regulations. Assist in maintaining fire safety systems, alarms, and emergency procedures. Track and log completed maintenance tasks, parts used, and report any recurring issues to management. Work collaboratively with hotel team members to support overall guest satisfaction. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification a plus. Prior maintenance experience in hotels, commercial buildings, or facilities preferred. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform tasks requiring standing/walking for extended periods. Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, or holidays if needed. Schedule & Compensation Schedule: Part-time (15–25 hours per week; flexible shifts) Compensation: Competitive hourly pay, commensurate with experience (typically $15–$17/hour in the Biloxi market).
