Clamp Truck Operator

**Job Description** **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** : + Must comply and support all applicable GMPs, Site Security, and Food Packaging Defense requirements that are referenced in the facilities GFSI food packaging safety program. + Take rolls of paper to the corrugator, always taking but rolls first, and record all rolls taken to the corrugator on the proper forms. + Learn to read corrugator lineups. + Mark but rolls as to the size, diameter, lineal footage, and grade before returning to stock. + Unload rolls from trailers and/or rail cars. Check for and note any physical damage to the rolls. + Operate the clamp truck in a safe manner. + Complete clamp truck inspection report at the beginning of each shift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. + Keep warehouse organized and clean. + Turn in roll stock tallies to the corrugator supervisor or Scheduling Department. + Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed. + Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals. + Assist the corrugator operator as instructed by supervision. + Make starch as needed per company formula. + Check viscosities on corrugator and at starch station as necessary. + Accurately record daily starch checklist. + Maintain the wastewater treatment facility. + Monitor inventory levels of starch and chemicals. + Read related MSDS and learn proper response for emergency chemical spills or skin contact. + Assist in the wet end training of the double backer and dry end personnel. + Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping. _These responsibilities and duties are not intended to be all-inclusive. Responsibilities may be added or deleted as necessary._ **Education/Experience:** + 2 years clamp truck experience + Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation. + Product quality specifications + Knowledge of Quality standards **Work Environment:** + Regular work near moving mechanical parts. + Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and temperature variations + Noise level is moderate to high. + Bump caps, ear protection, eye protection, and safety shoes are required. **Physical Demands:** The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform normal job functions: While performing the duties of this job, an individual is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
