Certifications: BLS (AHA) required (pending acceptable, must confirm willingness to obtain)


Must-Have:
- 1 year of Medical/Surgical experience required
- Ability to float to other Med/Surg units
- Willingness to work with a variety of staff (RN, LPN, Techs, etc.)
- Flexibility to accommodate staffing demands during holiday coverage


Description:
Holiday coverage is required.
RTO during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing demands.
36 or 48-hour weeks are available.
Must be available the first two weeks of orientation.
Will float to other Med/Surg units as needed.
Will work every other weekend.
The unit cares for a wide variety of patient types.
Patients include those with general medical diagnoses.
Specialties include gastrointestinal, urological, and gynecological surgeries.
Staffing ratio is typically 1:5-6 for nights.
Ratios may flex to 8 patients with RN paired with LPN for support.
Daily census is around 30 patients.
The unit consists of 30 beds dedicated to adult and geriatric care.
Staffing includes interdisciplinary teams such as IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and more.
Patient diagnoses include neurological disorders, elective total joint replacements, ortho fractures, and vascular disorders.
Special procedures and equipment used in the unit are part of the care provided.
Floating will typically occur once per week, depending on needs.
Modules are required to be completed annually, and references will be required.
