Assistant Professor of Clinical Anatomy, Cell Biology & Physiology

Responsibilities The IU School of Medicine (IUSM) Department of Anatomy, Cell Biology & Physiology (ACBP) seeks a clinical‑track faculty member focused on education. The successful applicant will teach anatomical disciplines to medical and health professional students, including gross anatomy, histology, embryology, and neuroanatomy. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the department’s outreach mission, which provides anatomy‑ and physiology‑based science outreach to K‑12 and postsecondary students across Indiana and neighboring states. The faculty member will also mentor graduate and health professional students in medical education projects as needed. Expectations include collaborative interdisciplinary teaching, course development across the School of Medicine and IU Indianapolis campus, engagement in service opportunities, and participation in the department’s educational mission. Qualifications Applicants must hold a PhD and/or MD degree. Competitive candidates will have a significant teaching background in the anatomical disciplines listed above. A strong record in medical education and the ability to mentor graduate students are highly desirable. Candidates should be highly collaborative, eager to work in interdisciplinary teams, and committed to advancing educational delivery in an integrated basic science and clinical environment.
