Logistics Supervisor

Responsible for managing Shipping and Receiving Clerks, Logistics Coordinators and Material Handlers within the shipping and receiving departments. Essential Responsibilities Identify requirements for proper documentation for customs on international shipments Provide leadership in on-going cost reduction and continuous improvement programs Develop, implement and execute logistics sourcing strategies, practices and procedures in alignment with business unit leaders Develop and implement negotiation strategies for logistic services, including all types of inbound and outbound transportation, warehousing, crating/packaging, and freight bill auditing Work closely with internal stakeholders to establish correct Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Develop and be accountable for budget/standard cost for quarterly/annual operating and long‑range planning Evaluate supplier quotations using appropriate negotiation and procurement analysis techniques and implement proper contracts with emphasis on quality, price and service Manage shipping schedule and oversee incoming and outgoing shipping and receiving activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management and Manufacturing departments for advanced identification of shipments with special requirements for permits, routes and equipment Manage all facets of material receivables and stock room activities Ensure employees have proper access to necessary tools, and that the tools are routinely inspected and maintained Create and sustain a safe work environment Deliver supervisory functions including, but not limited to, talent acquisition, performance management and employee relations Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 5 years logistics and logistics contract negotiation experience, preferably in the electrical/power component industry Minimum 1 year of proven supervisory experience Expertise in executing Receiving/Inventory Control through Oracle Systems Preferred Qualifications Experience with Oracle Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements Must be able to communicate effectively across multiple cultures and work well in a global team environment Ability to solve problems in a fast‑paced environment Proven ability to develop effective working relationships Demonstrated capability in managing team activities Strong planning/project management skills Working & Environmental Conditions Physical Requirements: Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner continuously Continuous standing, walking 50-300 foot distances for long periods of time with only occasional sitting Walking up to 300 feet frequently and standing continuously throughout the shift with short periods of sitting #J-18808-Ljbffr
