Non-Certified Police Officer

The City of Hallandale Beach is currently accepting applications for the position of Non-Certified Police Officer. There is a mandatory orientation & Civil Service examination required for this position. Police orientation/examination date & time: If your application is selected, you will be invited to take the exam (date to be determined). Participation is required; otherwise, you will not be considered for the position. Non-certified police officers successfully complete rigorous academic and physical training, through an established Police Academy curriculum. Documentation must be provided at time of application, demonstrating applicant meets position requirements.

Minimum qualifications:

• Must be 19 years of age or older at the time of employment;
• Be a United States Citizen;
• High school Diploma or GED;
• Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid State of Florida driver's license;
• Have not been convicted of any felony or of any misdemeanor involving perjury or a false statement;
• Have good moral character;
• Must be able to read and write the English language.
• Must possess or be able to obtain certification from the Federal Emergency Management Administration, National Incident Management System IS-700 Introduction to NIMS, IS-800 National Response Plan, IS-100 Introduction to Incident Command, and IS-200 Incident Command for Single Resources within one (1) year of employment start date.
• Any person who, after July 1, 1981, pleads guilty or nolo contendere to, or is found guilty of any felony or of a misdemeanor involving perjury or a false statement, shall not be eligible for employment or appointment as an officer, notwithstanding suspension of sentence or withholding of adjudication.
• Have never received a dishonorable discharge from any of the Armed Forces of the United States.
• Passing Swim Test scores from Broward College Institute of Public Safety
• CJBAT scores for applicable candidates (Veterans and anyone holding an Associates Degree or higher are exempt)
• Passing Basic Motor Skills Test (BMST) from Broward College Institute of Public Safety

Additional physical agility test may be required.
