General Manager

This posting is for a General Manager position at a McDonald’s restaurant that is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee is the sole employer responsible for all employment-related matters, including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. Sales, Guest Counts & Profitability Effectively develops and executes local marketing plans to maximize sales potential. Ensures systems and routines continually improve sales and transactions; drives the team with targets and holds them accountable. Conducts in‑restaurant implementation of new products and procedures (e.g., NABITS). Effectively executes national and co‑op promotions to maximize sales potential. Consistently manages expenses and meets budgeted targets, especially food, labor, and maintenance & repair. Uses proper security procedures when handling deposits and safe contents. Operations – Quality & Food Safety Maintains critical standards for raw and finished product quality, service speed, cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety on a daily basis. Manages planned maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal productivity and quality. Service & Scheduling Accurately projects, measures, and controls all P&L line items (e.g., food, labor). Measures external customer satisfaction and implements plans to improve it and increase loyalty. Effectively schedules to build the business across all day parts. Cleanliness & Security Maintains all physical plant aspects including landscaping, building, equipment, etc. Ensures all security procedures are executed. People Recruits, selects, develops, and retains an optimal number of crew, maintenance, and management staff. Plans and conducts leadership team meetings. Completes and presents performance appraisals based on defined goals and objectives in a timely manner. Enforces and educates crew on all appropriate policies, labor laws, security, and safety procedures. Models performance standards for all crew stations and maintenance. Executes a plan to increase employee loyalty, satisfaction, and pride in the McDonald’s experience. Manages the development and training of crew and shift‑management employees, including initial and follow‑up orientations.
