Application Engineer I

Job Description The Application Engineer I supports the Concepting & Estimating (CAE) team by developing solution concepts, generating cost estimates, and preparing proposal content in support of the sales process. This role operates at the intersection of sales and engineering – balancing cost competitiveness with technical accuracy. Success requires the ability to assess material and engineering effort, define solution approaches, and deliver high-quality proposals on tight timelines. This is a fast‑paced, learning‑focused, entry‑level position designed for recent graduates or early‑career engineers. The role emphasizes speed, critical thinking, and continuous learning over perfection, with a strong expectation to develop judgment around risk, cost accuracy, and proposal clarity. In this role you will report to our Sr Application Engineering Supervisor and work out of our Cincinnati, OH location on a hybrid basis. For the first 90 days, new hires must be prepared to work onsite 100% M‑F.
