Saw Operator

POSITION SUMMARY Operates band saws, cold saws, and related cutting equipment to cut raw material stock to required lengths and specifications for production. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Set up and operate band saws and cold saws to cut steel bar, tube, and plate stock 2. Read cut tickets and work orders to determine material type, size, and cut length 3. Measure and verify cut pieces to specified dimensions 4. Label and stage cut material for downstream operations 5. Perform routine blade changes and equipment maintenance 6. Keep saw area clean and organized 7. Follow all lockout/tagout and cutting safety procedures 8. Perform other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. High school diploma or GED 2. 1+ years saw operation or manufacturing experience 3. Basic math and measuring skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Experience with production saw operations in a steel service or manufacturing environment 2. Forklift certification PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT Prolonged standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, exposure to metal chips, coolant, and machine noise. PPE required.
