Finance Intern

40 hours per week for 12 weeks during the summer. Location: Summa Health Corporate Office – 1077 Gorge Blvd, Akron, OH 44310. Summary of Position Supports the finance team within a healthcare organization by assisting with financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and operational support. Offers hands‑on experience in healthcare finance, exposure to industry‑specific regulations, and the opportunity to contribute to data‑driven decision‑making that impacts patient care and organizational efficiency. Minimum Qualifications Formal Education Required: Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary course of study, preferably with a focus in finance, accounting, or business‑related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Excel (knowledge of financial modeling is a plus). Familiarity with financial principles and basic accounting concepts. Self‑starter that has the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to effectively interact with team members with respect and professionalism. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges and responsibilities. Ability to be flexible and respond quickly to changes in project scope and timelines. Ability to occasionally travel for projects, events or training between Summa Health locations. Level of Physical Demands: Mostly sedentary with occasional lifting of materials up to 10 pounds. Compensation $15.96/hr - $21.21/hr (base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials).
