Please read on to discover if you could see yourself joining the HBK Family.DESCRIPTION:At HBK, the firm's internship program is designed to provide a valuable and challenging "hands-on" learning experience, to develop an understanding of the firm, the public accounting profession and to enhance the intern's formal education. You will accomplish this by:Receiving training on federal and state tax preparation, tax research, tax laws, and HBK softwareAttending a week-long 1040 Tax Training ProgramContributing to the firm by providing timely and high-quality work productsWorking closely with team members across all levels of the organization and performing many of the same responsibilities as a first-year associateGaining hands on training on how to prepare tax returns (individual and corporate)Gaining a better understanding of how public accounting firms operate.Strengthening communication, analytical, and professional skills through hands-on experienceGaining insight into what it takes to build a successful career in the public accounting industryREQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONSSophomore or junior candidate pursuing a major in accountingPreferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; leadership experience, campus involvement, and relevant work experience are also highly valued.Actively pursuing or interest in pursuing the CPA designationMust possess excellent computer, communication, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Must pass an employment background checkINTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS:Internships may be full-time or part-time depending on the time of year and office requirements. For spring busy season internships, candidates must have the ability to work at least 24 hours per week in-office during the program. Before applying, please ensure you can commit to a minimum of 24 hours in-office per week throughout the duration of the program.
