Senior Tax Manager

The Senior Tax Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Lake Oswego, OR, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role oversees complex tax engagements, including planning, compliance, and review for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities. The Senior Tax Manager will lead tax teams, mentor staff, manage workflows, and ensure accurate, timely filings in accordance with applicable tax laws and regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing tax returns, researching tax issues, communicating with clients to clarify goals and provide guidance, and identifying opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation. The role also involves contributing to business development, strengthening client relationships, and supporting firm-wide initiatives for process improvement and quality control.



Qualifications

• Strong tax planning skills, with the ability to design and implement strategic tax solutions aligned with client objectives.
• Extensive experience in tax compliance and tax preparation across multiple entity types and industries.
• Deep understanding of tax law and regulations, and the ability to interpret and apply complex tax guidance.
• Broad tax knowledge, including federal and state taxation, and awareness of emerging tax issues and trends.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required; advanced tax or accounting degree preferred.
• Several years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, including prior management or supervisory responsibilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and deadlines.
• Effective communication and client service skills, with the ability to explain technical tax concepts in clear, accessible language.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coach staff, and collaborate across disciplines in a hybrid work environment.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and general business applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, workflow tools).
