Job Title: Order Picker
Job Description
The Order Picker is responsible for accurately verifying, processing, and preparing customer orders for shipment in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role focuses on quality inspection, product verification, and data entry to ensure all orders are correct in type, quantity, and documentation before leaving the facility.
Responsibilities

• Review picked orders and carefully check for errors to ensure all items are correct before they are sent to shipping.
• Lift and move products weighing approximately 30-40 pounds throughout the workday.
• Perform quality inspections on products, checking for mistakes and defects before orders are finalized.
• Assist with order picking as needed to support overall warehouse operations.
• Use RF scanners and pick links to upload and maintain accurate documentation for each order.
• Verify all orders to ensure 100% accuracy in product type, quantity, and documentation.
• Process bulk orders by breaking them down into smaller orders based on specific locations and requirements.
• Use work orders to verify the correct product and quantities needed for each shipment.
• Count individual items, such as pairs of socks, to ensure accurate quantities for every order.
• Use computers to enter order data, update inventory information, and print shipping labels.
• Re-verify product type and quantity multiple times throughout the process to maintain high accuracy standards.
• Follow general warehouse procedures and support packing, inventory, and general labor tasks as required.

Essential Skills

• Experience with order picking and packing in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Ability to lift and move 30-40 pounds repeatedly during the shift.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on product verification and quality inspection.
• Proficiency using RF scanners for tracking and documenting orders.
• Comfort working with computers to enter data and print shipping labels.
• Capability to stand for the entire shift in an open warehouse environment.
• Basic inventory handling skills and familiarity with general labor tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse operations, including picking, packing, and product verification.
• Experience using pick links or similar systems to manage order documentation.
• Previous exposure to inventory processes and warehouse packing activities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and reliability in following work orders and procedures.

Work Environment
This role is based in an open warehouse environment where you will stand for the entire shift and perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and counting products. You will regularly use RF scanners, pick links, and computers to manage orders, verify inventory, and print shipping labels. The dress code is casual and practical, typically jeans, a t-shirt, and tennis shoes, suitable for an active, hands-on work setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Mankato, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
