About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a growing and financially sophisticated organization seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial reporting functions. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic accounting professional with a strong background in private equity, investment accounting, and real estate who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare and analyze accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage accounting activities related to investment portfolios, private equity transactions, and real estate holdings.
• Ensure timely reporting of investment performance, capital activity, and asset valuations.
• Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
• Partner with executive leadership to support financial planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.
• Mentor and lead the accounting team while driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance across multiple entities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience , including experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Strong experience with private equity, investment accounting, and real estate accounting is preferred.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing multiple entities and complex financial structures.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with excellent attention to detail.

• Financial modeling and budgeting
• Audit coordination and regulatory compliance
