Job Description Armed Law Enforcement Officer Part Time Airport Position located on Molokai, Hawaii. As an Airport Law Enforcement Officer - Armed Patrol, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, its travelers, and airport operations. Position Type: Part Time - Morning Pay Rate: $28.86 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee. Job Schedule: Tue 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM Job Locations: US-HI-Hoolehua Category (Portal Searching): Security Officer Level Workdays Available: Monday - Friday, Saturday - Sunday Shifts Available: Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Overnight Business Unit: AUS Requirements and Qualifications Minimum qualifications (NO EXCEPTIONS): 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level) Pre-Employment Requirements: Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent (credentials required upon applying) Valid Driver's License Law Enforcement Officer License 22+ years of age Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications Required: Applicant must complete one of the following approved programs: Certified State law enforcement recruit training Certified County law enforcement recruit training Federal law enforcement training Programs approved by the Director Each LEO will possess the following minimum qualifications: No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9)) or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings *A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions. Knowledge and Skills Required: Must be able to supervise Contractor's personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies, and the public on security matters. Other related attributes that may enhance hiring consideration: No record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders which may interfere with performance of duties Responsibilities: Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with problem-solving approaches. Exercise sound judgment and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stress. Maintain professional conduct and appearance; communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. Follow instructions, take responsibility for actions, and maintain courtesy with the public, airport staff, tenants, and other security personnel. LEOs may be required to provide a court appearance for citations; contractor shall provide replacement staffing for court appearances. Physical Requirements and Environment: Mental and emotional capability to perform duties; good physical health for standing, walking, patrolling, climbing stairs, running, and self-defense. Ability to perform essential physical tasks with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting and carrying objects up to 25 lbs for a designated distance, and assisting in safe evacuation of individuals. Subject to a random drug screen; able to exercise physical force if required; able to pass a security background check; well-groomed and neat in appearance as an official representative of the State. Pass a one-time physical examination within the past 6 months and pass a 12-panel drug test with ongoing random testing.
