Position Summary

Serving Children and Adults in Need, Inc., (SCAN) is seeking a qualified and compassionate Counselor/Therapist to provide trauma-informed behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and their families through SCAN#39;s SAMHSA-funded National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) Category III Community Treatment and Service Center.

The Counselor? Therapist will provide screening, assessment, individual and family counseling, treatment planning, crisis intervention, care coordination, and other clinical services to children and adolescents who have experience trauma. The position will support SCAN#39;s efforts to increase access to effective, evidence-based, and trauma-informed services for children and families in Webb County,

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide trauma-informed individual and family counseling services as appropriate.

Conduct clinical screenings, assessments, and reassessments using program-approved instruments.

Develop individualized treatment plans based on the needs, strengths, trauma history, and goals of each child and family.

Deliver evidence-based or evidence-informed trauma treatment practices adopted by the NCTSN project.

Provide developmentally and culturally responsive services to children, adolescents, and families.

Engage parents, caregivers, and other family members in treatment when clinically appropriate.

Provide crisis assessment, safety planning, and intervention as needed.

Coordinate services and referrals with schools, healthcare providers, behavioral health providers, child-serving agencies, and other community partners.

Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency, grant, licensing, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Participate in clinical supervision, case consultation, multidisciplinary team meetings, and program meetings.

Participate in required NCTSN, SAMHSA, and agency-sponsored interventions selected for implementation by the program.

Complete training and work toward proficiency in trauma-focused interventions selected for implementation by the program.

Assist with collection of required program, clinical outcome, and evaluation data.

Support outreach and engagement activities designed to increase awareness of childhood trauma and available services.

Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPPA and all applicable federal and state confidentiality requirements.

Perform other duties necessary to support the goals and objectives of the SAMHSA NCTSN Category III Project.

Minimum Qualifications

Master#39;s degree in Counseling Psychology or a closely related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.

Current Texas behavioral health professional license as an LPC, LPC Associate, or LCSW, as applicable to the services provided,

Knowledge of trauma-informed care and behavioral health treatment for children and adolescents.

Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary community partners.

Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical records.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience providing behavioral health services to children and adolescents who have experience trauma.

Experience working with children and families affected by abuse, neglect, family violence, grief, community violence, or other traumatic experiences.

Experience working in community-based behavioral health programs

Bilingual English/ Spanish skills are strongly preferred.

The selected applicant must successfully complete all agency-required background checks, screenings, credential verification, and required training prior to or following employment, as applicable. The employee must maintain all professional licenses, credential, and continuing education requirements applicable to the position.

Salary: $50,000-$60,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment depends on the availability of grant funding and satisfactory job performance.
