Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled registered nurse to provide exceptional care within an assigned hospital unit. The successful candidate will support the mission and values of our healthcare system while ensuring comprehensive nursing care for patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care to patients, following provider orders and clinical guidelines.
• Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation, including care plans for each shift.
• Engage in feedback processes concerning nursing practice and take appropriate actions for improvement.
• Ensure continuity and safety in patient care through effective communication during bedside shift reports, multidisciplinary rounds, and hourly rounding.
• Achieve compliance with unit-specific competencies and complete all necessary educational modules within designated timeframes.
• Promote a culture of well-being, aiming to reduce alarm fatigue and enhance the department's atmosphere.
• Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by adhering to established procedures and protocols.
• Identify and address patient care safety issues promptly.
• Work within a Just Culture Environment, promoting error reporting and safe practices.
• Participate in daily unit-based safety huddles and quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with nursing staff across departments to leverage expertise from various clinical areas and specialties.
• Actively engage in personal performance goal development based on self-assessment and feedback.
• Ensure patient education materials are culturally competent and relevant.
• Serve as a preceptor for new nursing staff and participate in maintaining survey readiness.
• Demonstrate commitment to shared governance principles and the philosophy of the unit.
• Assist with problem-solving and conflict resolution in team dynamics.
• Delegate nursing care aspects and unit activities effectively to other staff members.
• Work collaboratively with nursing students and instructors, contributing to their learning experience.
• Participate in peer feedback processes and employee engagement surveys.
• Avoid unauthorized overtime and manage earned time off in accordance with policy.
• Complete the required dysrhythmia course during orientation for telemetry-based departments.
• Maintain valid nursing licensure and certifications as required for the role.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned that are consistent with the nursing role.

Job Requirements

• Current RN license in New Hampshire is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program is preferred.
• Basic Dysrhythmia knowledge is preferred, or must be obtained prior to completing orientation.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training is preferred, or must be obtained prior to completing orientation.
