Shipping and Receiving Clerk
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk manages the flow of goods in and out of the facility by accurately receiving, organizing, and shipping products. This role involves picking and packing orders, coordinating logistics activities, and maintaining accurate inventory records to support efficient warehouse operations.
- Receive incoming shipments by verifying quantities and product details against shipping documents and system records.
- Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies and report any issues promptly.
- Accurately pick orders from inventory based on picking lists or system-generated orders.
- Pack products securely and correctly to ensure safe transportation and compliance with shipping requirements.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by labeling, staging, and organizing orders for carrier pickup.
- Perform shipping and receiving transactions using systems such as SAP or similar warehouse management tools.
- Support logistics activities by coordinating the movement of materials within the warehouse and to outbound carriers.
- Assist with kitting operations by assembling components or products according to specifications.
- Maintain inventory control by organizing stock, performing counts, and updating records as needed.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe, following all workplace safety procedures and guidelines.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving operations.
- Hands-on experience with picking and packing orders in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Ability to perform inventory control tasks, including counting, organizing, and tracking stock.
- Familiarity with logistics processes, including the movement and handling of goods.
- Capability to work effectively on first or second shift schedules as required.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order selection, packing, and documentation.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn or use systems such as SAP for shipping and inventory transactions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with kitting, including assembling components or kits according to instructions.
- Experience in order selection within a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
- Exposure to SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) or warehouse management systems.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and organization.

Work Environment
This position is based in a warehouse or distribution setting that handles daily shipping and receiving activities. You work on either a first shift (approximately 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) or a second shift (approximately 1:45 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.), depending on operational needs. The role involves standing, walking, and handling products throughout the shift, as well as working around racking, pallets, and material handling equipment. You use tools and systems such as SAP or similar software to process orders, track inventory, and complete shipping and receiving tasks. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork, with clear procedures to support efficient and accurate warehouse operations.

This is a Contract position based out of Louisville, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $20.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
