Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a municipal bridge construction project in Westchester County, NY, from Notice of Award through successful closeout. This position will have end-to-end responsibility for project schedule, budget, quality, safety, field operations, subcontractor performance, and client relationships .
The project is a public works contract with a fixed completion date, prevailing wage requirements, multiple specialty subcontractors, and active involvement from the owner, engineer of record, and construction management team. Success in this role requires strong project leadership, financial discipline, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to coordinate complex construction activities while maintaining schedule and contractual commitments.







Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary project contact for the owner, engineer of record, construction manager, and project stakeholders.
• Develop, maintain, and manage the CPM project schedule using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Coordinate long-lead procurement, permitting, utility interfaces, work-zone sequencing, and critical-path activities.
• Manage subcontractors and specialty trades from scope development and buyout through coordination, performance management, and closeout.
• Own project financial performance, including cost-to-complete forecasting, monthly requisitions, retainage, change orders, cash flow, and margin reporting.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and technical reviews while protecting project milestones and the critical path.
• Ensure compliance with New York State Labor Law Article 8 , prevailing wage requirements, certified payroll, OSHA standards, subcontractor registration, and owner reporting requirements.
• Lead project safety efforts involving demolition, crane operations, traffic control, and construction activities over or adjacent to live traffic.
• Direct the superintendent and field team while maintaining a strong presence during critical operations, including scheduled night work.
• Identify potential project risks involving field conditions, quantities, weather, procurement, and schedule constraints, and develop solutions before they escalate into disputes.
• Support estimating, bid reviews, preconstruction activities, field staff development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience , including at least 5 years as a project manager of record for bridge, structural, or transportation projects.
• Demonstrated experience working with New York public owners , including municipal, county, NYSDOT, or authority projects.
• Strong knowledge of prevailing-wage public works contracts and applicable New York requirements.
• Proven experience managing project financials, including P&L responsibility, cost-to-complete forecasting, change orders, and margin performance.
• Experience managing multi-trade subcontractors, specialty vendors, and long-lead structural components.
• Working knowledge of Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) plans, night work, permitted lane closures, and roadway closures.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project , Procore or equivalent construction management platforms, and Excel-based cost tracking.
• OSHA 30 certification and a valid driver's license.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management , or a related discipline; equivalent field experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with prefabricated or modular bridge erection.
• Crane and rigging planning experience.
• Experience overseeing environmental abatement activities within construction contracts.
• Knowledge of structural concrete repair and protective coating systems.
• Estimating or preconstruction experience.
• New York PE, PMP, or CCM certification.
