General Liability Senior Technical Specialist-Public Sector

Claim Compensation Overview This position offers a nationwide market salary range of $94,400.00 to $155,800.00, based on scope, complexity, location, and experience. It also includes performance‑based cash incentive awards. What Is the Opportunity? Under general supervision, you will investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate, and resolve assigned General Liability Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims. You will handle the full claim life cycle, maintain compliance with internal and external quality standards, and provide consulting and training to field partners. What Will You Do? Handle assigned severity claims and provide quality customer service. Investigate claims through contact with policyholders, claimants, law enforcement, witnesses, agents and experts. Determine liability, damages, and contribution potential. Maintain claim files and document activities per procedures. Review Claim File Analysis for quality and trend analysis. Manage reserves for indemnity and expense. Recommend cases for discussion at roundtables and attend such meetings. Apply claim quality protocols and document rationale for deviations. Develop creative resolution strategies and negotiate settlements. Manage litigated claims, including discovery, counsel selection, and expense control. Attend depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Refer cases requiring a higher level of professional to appropriate handlers. Handle confidential information appropriately. Fulfill service commitments for special accounts and provide technical support. Coach and mentor less experienced claim professionals. Work with business partners to sustain quality results. Evaluate recovery potential and direct recovery efforts. Perform additional duties as assigned. What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have? Bachelor’s Degree. 4+ years of bodily injury litigation claim handling experience. Advanced knowledge of coverage, liability, damages, and the litigation process. Extensive claim and legal experience for severe and complex claims. Ability to make independent decisions on most assigned cases. Strong customer service, coaching, and communication skills. Intermediate skill levels in negotiation, technology, attention to detail, analytical thinking, judgment, and communication. Advanced skills in insurance contract knowledge, investigation principles, value determination, and settlement techniques. What Is a Must Have? High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 3 years of bodily injury litigation claim handling or comparable experience. What Is in It for You?
