A little about us and why we need one-another:

Over 100 years ago, a man named John Thurman Curry started out hauling luggage for travelers from the Parkersburg train station to their homes. He called his company J.T. Curry Transfer, and this was our humble beginning. Now, five generations later and still a family business, we call ourselves Curry Warehouses. Because of our exacting standards, we are the premier third-party logistics company in the area. Our forklifts are top of the line and all-electric. Our human resources department provides employees with an App which connects them instantly to a snapshot of everything going on in the company and allows control over much of what happens with them. We utilize a state-of-the-art warehouse management system (WMS). Our innovative storage techniques and processes set standards globally. The following education and experience are necessary for this position:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent 
• Certification: Valid CDL A Commercial Driver's License with the appropriate class and endorsements 

To do this job you will need:

Experience: 

• Minimum of 6 months of experience as a CDL A truck driver 

Skills:  

• Clean driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations. 

• Knowledge of and adherence to all federal and state transportation regulations. 

• Ability to operate and maintain commercial vehicles safely and effectively. 

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing paperwork and logs. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with dispatchers, customers, and team members. 

• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning software. 

• Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules. 

• Commitment to safety, both for oneself and others on the road. 

• Professional and customer-oriented attitude. 

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy cargo as needed 
• Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods of time

Your duties and responsibilities will be:

• Perform daily inspection of company equipment prior to beginning journey to ensure road readiness. 

• Inspect trailers before and after loading, paying attention to status of air lines and jack positions and adjusting them as necessary. 

• Adhere to traffic safety regulations at all times, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities. 

• Use of company GPS equipment to stay informed of critical route information and provide tracking data for the company. 

• Willingness to submit to drug and alcohol screenings as prescribed by
  Motor Carrier Authority. 

• Other duties as assigned.
